As this week comes to an end, we continue on our journey to finish our projects. It seems to be extremely stressful with all the due dates coming quickly. I posted my survey on Facebook and it seems to be getting quite a lot of feedback as of today 40 people take it. I also have gotten quite a few emails with women asking me about more information. Also some want to see my final project to find out what my information concluded. I am continuing to send my survey out to more people because the more people the better. I am also working on obtaining permission on my MM #3 and editing my poem which I am using for MM #1.

Projects!
Hello All,
As this weeks come to an end, we know that the beginning of next week the first draft of the ARP is due on duesday! This week I have feel like I have accomplished a lot. I sent out another email to setup another interview. I also worked on multimodal idea. So far the first two are getting better slowly. My one idea is that I am taking two pictures, one of a group of girls in their practice uniforms and the second in street clothes. I was thinking about putting it on a poster and when people look at it, I want them to write down immediately what they first thought when they saw both pictures. The second is a poem that I have been working on called When you look at a softball player! Each day I have been changing it a bit, so that it is appropriate and strongly gets my point across. I am still thinking about what I would like to do for my third project. I am also continuing on my text based research and found quite a few more interesting websites. I also found a few personal stories, that would be nice to reference when I am writing my ARP.
Have a nice weekend!

Facebook Observation
Hello All,
So as I have mentioned in my last blog, I was doing a facebook observation about coming out day 2010. Which was on Tuesday! On Wednesday I read a few articles about how in certain areas so many as 30 men came out and now are living the life that they feel best suites them. Congratulations to all who braved Coming Out Day 2010. I also learned something interesting. New gang initiations are to kill homosexuals, men mainly in New York City. So I give a lot of credit to those men who came out especially in the New York area. Although, this gang initiations are focusing on men, some women are killed as well. They said that this current gang might take it to the next level and killing homosexuals may start on a regular basis. Just a little information that I thought was interesting. So since Tuesday was the official United States wide Coming Out Day, the Human Rights Campaigned asked everyone; heterosexual and homosexual to donate their status for just one day. So that it shows awareness to people everywhere. It surprised me on how little a number decided to do this, either they are not aware of how important it was or they just did not care.
Out of the 778 friends that I have on facebook only 11 people posted about national coming out day and that appalled me. Only three of them were female- student athletes, no males, and one trans-gender posted it. And it is not like no one knew about it because it was posted all over facebook for days. The thing that really gets me is that homosexuals that I know are out in the open, did not do anything about it. If they can not stand up for people like themselves, then why should heterosexuals stand up for the homosexuals. I mean yes it is just a facebook posting, but still it was an important one.

Coming Out Day
Hello All,
As October 10th and 11th is the official "coming out" day, it does not necessarily mean that a person has to come out today. I am actually conducting an experiment on facebook. To support the cause the friends of facebook are asked to like the Human Rights Campaign and to ask something specific to your status in support of coming out day. As these next two days approach us I am going to heavily monitor facebook to see how many people or friends of mine I should say are going to post this. To post this on your status it does not mean that you have to be a homosexual, but in general a supportive of same sex love. I plan to monitor by checking the news feed that pops up on my facebook and write down who the person is that posted it up on there status. This actually can help my project, cause posting this shows that either 1. people are in support of same sex love, or 1. people that are homosexuals care about others who are now coming out of the closet and are supporting them. It will also show how many females to males post it, athletes to non athletes who post it, and heterosexuals to homosexuals that post it. Please help me fellow bloggers and log on to facebook and find the Human Rights campaign site and do this. It is for a great cause!
Hope you all had a nice weekend!

The First Week of October
Hello All,
Happy first week of October! So as we start this week I thought I would begin sending out emails to the people that I would like to interview. I have talked to a few people already in regards to the interview and they have seemed very excited. As I wait for responses back, I am thinking about adding more questions. Also, I decided to become more organized because I have noticed organization is the key. Without being organized I have become more and more stressed with this project. As I have gotten a folder with sub-folders and put all my papers and information together, I have learned a lot of stress has been lifted off my shoulders. What is everyone else doing for organization?
Have a great week!!!!
